Frostbite, the card would only apply to your brother, unless you two have the same name and look simmiliar .
----------------
Dear Noblest gentlemen and kindest gentlewomen,
I thought I would touch base with everyone who has followed us on facebook and have dedicated themselves to come out to our event this Saturday.
I would like to first off give a huge shout out (one of many) to the Video Gamers Alliance Club, without them we wouldn't be having this epic event this weekend, and our aspiring local DJ's who are going to throw one heck of a rave/dance party in the lounge starting at 1PM CST Saturday, keep an ear out for some free glow sticks!
I wanted to touch base on a few subjects; one of them was frequently asked questions. I've been getting a lot of questions concerning mostly X-Box participants whether or not they need to bring a TV along with their X-Box, the answer is......YES, bring a TV, try not to bring the largest one you have (there isn't a "who has the largest TV contest").
Same goes for computers, bring your computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, mouse pad and whatever else you may need. We will have some spare monitor cables, power cables, etc on hand, if you forget something don't worry, we got you covered, just ask!
We have a somewhat tentative tournament schedule, due to the fact that this is a one day event and unpredictable turnout timing is subject to change, but we will try and keep everyone informed at the event of upcoming tournaments as well as make sure everyone who wants to play has a team.
The schedule (tentative) looks something like this (I’m copying it from a napkin, no joke):
-Opening announcements, drawings, prize giveaways, bawls chugging contest, talent show, underwater PC demonstration, and much more will begin at ~11:30AM CST, you want to be setup and ready by ~11:30!
-TF2: 12:30PM
-CSS: 1:30PM
-COD4: 5:00PM
-Halo 3: 1:00PM
-Bad Company2 (if there is enough interest and time): --:--
-SSB: 3:00
-Street Fighter 4: 1-3:00 (very subject to change depending on how many we get for this tournament)
There may be other tournaments, it all depends on if we have time, how many people show up, and other variables. The primary focus of this event is to HAVE FUN, so regardless of whether or not you’re participating in a tournament or there to be with friends or make new friends, just remember to have some fun!
There is no way we can guarantee or definitively say how many will be in attendance, at this point we can only go on pure speculation. We will start out with enough seating capacity for about 100 people, we have enough power and networking equipment to accommodate about 200, we can add spaces if necessary. Bottom line, the earlier you get there, the better a chance you'll get a good spot and or get to sit with your group if you have one. We will start letting people in at 9AM CST Saturday morning providing setup is completed.
I would like to also give a sincere thanks to our sponsors who have blessed us with some very cool prizes and giveaways! CPU Magazine, In-Win, Cooler Master, Technologies For Tomorrow, Alienware, Crucial, and others that I cannot remember off hand.
I hope everyone has a terrific Good Friday (what Friday isn’t good?) and hope to see everyone in the conference center on Saturday, April 3ed!

We have a special treat for this LAN a state of the art computerized power box. If a circuit begins to exceed it's available power a red light flashes with an alarm and the computer allows a temporary voltage increase so the breaker wont trip allowing you time to fix the issue. I have a link to a video showing it in operation. Very cool.

Indeed.
Well we had an AWESOME turnout, like I think we had around 80 people, rough count from the sign in sheets.
All went well, however we are missing a UWF projector which they tell us is worth about $1500, so....yeah. _________________ Founder Of Panhandle Gamers/Zombie Outbreak Response Team: Urban Division

Check out my YouTube channel, EazyCheeze, and also friend me on Facebook, eazycheeze1978, to see all the photos and videos I took. Yes, I know some people probably took more, but these are my first media from a major event like this, so bear with me hehe. _________________

I had a lot of fun.
More Counter-Strike: Source teams next time!
Small suggestions- No karaoke while teams are competing we can't hear our team or the game! And one more thing, You can't throw out free stuff while teams are competing!!! |

Hello everyone, just wanted to thank everybody that came out to the LAN Party on Saturday, we had a great time and an even greater turnout, we had over 80 participants!
Special thanks to the UWF Video Gamers Alliance club for teaming up with us to host this monumental event, and our sponsors who support the gaming scene, In-Win, Crucial, Technologies for Tomorrow, Cooler Master, CPU Magazine, and Alienware. We usually have a lot more sponsors, but perhaps we can blame the economy because a lot of them are phasing out supporting LAN Parties and it's becoming harder to get any support from major corporations, but I’m impressed with the aforementioned sponsors who came through.
I personally apologize for any confusion with the tournaments, detailed information was not set in stone on many of the tournaments and information was not given well enough in advance, we will work to correct this problem with future events, and of course we cannot do these events without you guys, you are free to inquire and help us plan this, check out our forum on the website, www.panhandlegamers.com .
We do these events for fun, to have a good time and it's also good to personally meet people who have the same interest, it's a great networking opportunity.
Unfortunately we do have some bad news about the event this weekend, during clean up we noticed that one of the universities projectors, for lack of a better term, went missing. Should anyone have information about projector, please let us know. We are still unsure of the ramifications of the "missing" projector that we will face, a police report was filed and investigation is underway. There was also an external hard drive enclosure that was being demo’ed at the table with all of the cases that seems to also have some legs.
If you took any pictures at the event, we'd love to see them and put them on the website, email them (ZIP file if necessary), to admin@panhandlegamers.com .
A future event is in the works, we hope to host several gaming related events inside the FANdom event in October at UWF, more info on that convention is here: http://www.fandomfl.com/ _________________ Founder Of Panhandle Gamers/Zombie Outbreak Response Team: Urban Division

Just out of curiosity, who officially hosted the event and what all paper work did you sign on behalf of PHG? _________________

See I still lurk. Doubt I am going to ever shake the PC gaming infection. Been doing pretty well, but nothing new or that exciting to report. Still game with the other IHS homos from time to time. Trying to finish a L4D2 campaign, but I am too f'n lazy to complete it.
Hate to see LAN gaming finally die out in the area, but guess it was bound to happen. Maybe someone will release a game that requires a Gigabit connection and everyone will come crawling back to LANS again. |

Sorry I haven't been on here in probubly over a month or so, been busy with the acadamy.
The projector WAS recovered, amazing indeed.
LAN'ing isn't dead, there will be another event in a month or so, just a small one so we can all come to the same place and shoot the sh*t (litterally). _________________ Founder Of Panhandle Gamers/Zombie Outbreak Response Team: Urban Division

That is great news man. I know you are tired of losing money. Will keep an eye out for the next LAN. Sounds more our style.
I could probably get 4 or 5 IHS guys to go if anyone is going to be doing any L4D2 VS or Bad Company 2. |
